As a certified emergency responder, planner and fire Investigator, Ivan comes with more than 20 years of experience in the areas of occupational safety and health, with focus in fire safety, emergency response, incident investigation, business continuity, disaster recovery, and crisis management with the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).

Actively involved with professional organizations such as the Society of Loss Prevention for Process Industries (SLP), Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE), Association of Company Emergency Response Teams (ACERTS), and Workgroups of SPRING Singapore Standards; Ivan obtained his Master of Science in Safety, Health and Environmental Technology from NUS in 2003 and Master of Business Administration from Murdoch University in 2012. Pursuing his doctorate in risk & safety, his areas of interest include fire-explosion safety, protection & management, risk assessment & emergency planning, crisis & incident management, disaster recovery & business continuity management.

Ivan is currently an academic manager with the Singapore’s Institute of Technical Education overseeing technical training curricula and competency development in building and facility engineering including EHS, fire safety and risk management.
